To double the fun, I'm jazzed about going to the reception of the art ed. show at Jones Hall because I was surprised and amazed when I saw the artwork by people like Darla Linerode-Henson, Livia Carboni Gorbea and Charles Adair. I'm pretty sure Charles has been in the show for four years and his work keeps getting better every year. I really like hanging out with these people and I am extra happy because Lea Alexander, Bryna Bobick and Donalyn Heise have done such a great job and I'll get to hang out with them some too. I'm hoping Boo Ruch is there too because she is one of my top-ten-all-time-favorite-art-educators in the whole wide United States of America. I missed the party for this show last year because I was at CAA, so I'm going to have to eat extra spinach dip this year. I'll post pictures over the weekend.
To triple the fun, after the ArtEd reception I'm going to swing by another lecture at Rhodes. Christine Tillman is going to talk about the work that she has up at Material this weekend. The show is called General Merriment. Merriment sounds good, right? And the image on the press release is like the world's most emo rainbow. Check out those moody black speech bubbles! I can't wait to find out what that rainbow is talking about!
